While previous high-altitude experience is helpful, it's not mandatory for the Gokyo Lakes & Cho La Pass. Good fitness and mental preparation are more important. Our gradual itinerary and experienced guides support first-timers.

We handle all permit arrangements including TIMS card and conservation area permits. These are included in your package price. You just need to provide passport copies.
How do I prepare physically?↓
Start cardio training 4-6 weeks before: hiking, cycling, or swimming. Include some stair climbing and weighted backpack walks. We send a detailed prep guide upon booking.
What about altitude sickness?↓
Our itinerary includes strategic acclimatization days. Guides monitor your health daily with oximeters and are trained in altitude illness. We carry emergency oxygen and evacuation insurance is mandatory.
