Kathmandu arrival. We handle the restricted area permits while you rest and acclimatise to the city.
An epic off-road journey into the heart of the Gorkha region along the Budi Gandaki gorge.
Follow the Budi Gandaki river upstream through terraced Gurung villages and dense sal forests.
Enter the restricted valley area. First glimpses of Tibetan influence in architecture and prayer flags.
Deep forest ascent. Mani walls and prayer wheels become more frequent as the culture shifts dramatically.
Epic first clear views of Manaslu (8,163m) from the Lho monastery perched above the valley.
Reach the largest village in the region under the full shadow of Manaslu. Imposing glacier lake views.
Vital rest day. Optional hike to Pungyen Gompa or Manaslu Base Camp for adaptation and awe.
Last inhabited village before the Tibetan border. High-altitude desert terrain and vivid sky begins.
