Do I need prior trekking experience?↓
While previous high-altitude experience is helpful, it's not mandatory for the Upper Dolpo Expedition. Good fitness and mental preparation are more important. Our gradual itinerary and experienced guides support first-timers.
What permits are required?↓
We handle all permit arrangements including TIMS card and conservation area permits. These are included in your package price. You just need to provide passport copies.
How do I prepare physically?↓
Start cardio training 4-6 weeks before: hiking, cycling, or swimming. Include some stair climbing and weighted backpack walks. We send a detailed prep guide upon booking.
What about altitude sickness?↓
Our itinerary includes strategic acclimatization days. Guides monitor your health daily with oximeters and are trained in altitude illness. We carry emergency oxygen and evacuation insurance is mandatory.
Can dietary restrictions be accommodated?↓
Yes! We cater to vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and other dietary needs. Inform us at booking and we'll coordinate with teahouses along the route.
